Tundra was previously a getaway driver for a gang alongside his brother Daryl.
The Tundra brothers never fully liked the gang, but it was their only way to get by, tensions were starting to build up, the brothers had enough, they wanted out of the gang and wanted to start their own lives. They planned their own job that would set them up just enough so they could make it on their own. They pulled off the job without a hitch, the brothers were riding off into the sunset, they were in the clear until Tundra took his eyes off the road and in a moment collided with a toxic waste tanker. Tundra survived, his brother didn't make it. Tundra was exposed to the toxic waste and while it didn't affect him at first, in the grief of losing his brother he started to mutate. Intense emotional pain caused the mutation. At the time the mutation was small, bigger teeth, green toung.
After losing everything Tundra returned to the gang, but they didn't want him, they saw him as a traitor for trying to go his own way. Alone with nowhere to go, he got angry and started to mutate more, growing two extra eyes.
Left on his wondering the streets he bumped into Shade who helped him come to terms with the pain and his new look. Tundra doesn't trust people easily, he has a very short fuse and will lose his temper at the slightest thing. When he does, he'll simply get in his car and go back to the site of the crash where he tragic accident happened. Shade always goes to find him and sit with him, helps him calm down.
Even though Shade will never be like Daryl, Tundra always sees Shade as a brother to him.
